Strange Hero

I had to keep running, if I didn’t keep up, I was bound to be lunch for the snake. I was falling behind in the mud, it stuck to my legs like glue and weighed me down. I thought that I was home free but as I ran I saw a lake in the distance . I’m doomed I thought, “HEEEEEEELLP!!!” I screamed, I thought it couldn’t get worse but I tripped on a rock! awaited my fate…. But, it never came. I heard the snake hiss with fear, I looked up and saw a heroic chameleon, standing on a branch, “Thank you!” I exclaimed, and they all lived happily ever after.

The End

Thankful Indeed!

I am thankful for these three things this year. Number one, Sea World camp. I am thankful for Sea World camp because I got to interact with the sea animals, have fun on the rides, and make new friends that I hope to meet next year. Number two, Montecito Sequoia Lodge. I am thankful for Montecito Sequoia Lodge because I got to have lots family time, and reunite with old friends, and swim in the lake. Number three, my cat Fanta. I am thankful for Fanta because of the joy and happiness he brings me, petting Fanta make my day better.

Rad Reading-October

This month I read the amazing book in the series Heroes of Olympus, called The Son of Neptune, by Rick Riordan

The son of Neptune’s plot is about a hero who wakes up in a strange land, and has lost all his memories, except one. He travels to camp Jupiter. He meets new friends, and goes on a quest to the land beyond the gods, and fights treacherous monsters. He travels back to camp Jupiter, where he waits to meet old friends.

Here is why I think this is a good book. First, the characters, it introduces new characters from camp Jupiter who are new recruits and are underdogs. The dynamic between all of the characters (old and new) works flawlessly. The battle sequences are fantastic, not to mention the setting of the story. The setting during the final battle is incredible, fighting hundreds of monsters on a glacier was an amazing scene.

My favorite character is Percy Jackson because he is a true hero. He thinks of others first, and always tries to do the right thing, this is because he is selfless. A quote that proves he is selfless is when the text tells us “‘Are you sure you want to do this? I’d understand if you didn’t.’ ‘No. Come on, let’s go save the world.’” (PG 154) This proves that Percy is selfless because of how he responds, he says yes despite knowing that the quest could get him killed. He acts for the good of the world, and doesn’t care what would happen to him in the process.

My favorite quote is on pg 363 where the author states “‘Life is only precious because it ends, kid’” This is my favorite quote because of how philosophical it is, it’s telling us to cherish what we have now, and if life went on forever, would we cherish it as much?

What To Wish

If a genie appeared in front of me, and asked me what my three wishes were, I would wish for these. Firstly, I would wish for the universe to not end, this is so that life can flourish eternally, and so that human kind can advance endlessly. My second wish would ask for the sun to not age, this is so that we can live in the solar system forever, and so we have time to advance enough to go to other planets. Lastly I would wish for a magical notebook, and everything written in the notebook comes true, this is so I could write things like, make sterling immortal, make sterling good at writing etc. this is what I would wish for if a genie appeared in front of me.
