A bit more 20% project week 3

This week I worked on adding more gods I added two new minor gods, one of them was the god of confusion, and the other was the gods of schoool. I did this to meet my goals for the end of the twenty percent project. Unfortunately this week I really am not happy with the amount of work I did, so I do feel like next week I really need to step up my game and finish my map, and antagonist group. To catch up on my twenty percent project goals next week I am going to make the map no matter what, and I am so close to finishing my antagonist group who go against the gods, but with a twist, and a betrayal. I want to go a tiny little bit beyond my twenty percent project a create sore wars between the kingdoms and the gods. Next week I want to finish the map, and explain the wars that happened, and explain the magic system.

Slow and steady 20% project week 2

this week I had a conversation with my mentor about the project, he showed me his old fantasy worlds, and gave me good advice on naming thing in my fantasy world. I have added rulers to all of the kingdoms, and who they are allies with, but not enemies. I also have created explanations for how the sky kingdom is alive.Unfortunately I still haven’t made a map for my fantasy world, and I am unsure about reworking the magic system. I feel like I am not making as much map progress as I would like too. The next time I work on my twenty percent project I want to finish the evil antagonist group, add a few more Gods to the pantheon, and explain them much better. I am very exited for next weeks progress, I hope that my fantasy map making website will be a lot less buggy in the future. That all I have to say see you all next week.

The Room of Laziness

My favorite room in my house is the living room. The living room is my favorite room because I spend most of my time awake there, charging my devices, and playing games with my friends. It’s also where I hang out with my adorable cat Fanta, he gets his fur everywhere though. Finally it’s where my family has movie night on the TV. which I always look forward to. Those are the reasons the living room is my favorite room in my house.

A Star Mobile Game

Now a-days it’s hard to find good, or even decent mobile games. Since most mobile games are made with the bare minimum, but with enough movement you can put it at the bottom of your video to keep people’s short attention spans fed with dopamine. For me the most popular mobile games are only fun for about a week, addicting gacha games, or pay to win live service, all of which are full of in app purchases, and micro-transactions.

However I think I have found a mobile game that can be fun without spending hundreds or thousands of dollars, Brawl Stars. I find brawl stars fun because the character progression is amazing, and the early character aren’t strictly worse then the ones you get later on. I also love that you can play with friends, and team up! Right now my favorite character is Barley who can throw cocktails that do damage over time, he is good for maps with lots of walls, Heist, and Hot Zone. Some other good characters are Bo for long range damage, Poco for healing and wide shots, and Darryl for wide range damage, especially in maps where enemies are funneled to one spot. I recommend you play this game as there aren’t that many downsides. It’s free to play, the matches are quick, and it’s never a slog to get through, so go get this shining star among mobile games. Brawl Stars.

20% Project week 1

Hello my name is Sterling, and for my 20% project I chose to create a fantasy world with world building.

This week I started getting progress on my fantasy world Dynio. I created the first gods, and a creation story. Right now I am working on how the kingdoms of light, and sky disappeared. A failure of this week is the map making website I’m using called Inkarnate, it was buggy, and I ended up losing my progress. I think it happened because I wasn’t using a recommended browser. I want to adjust the magic system I made to make it simpler, and to add better consequences for magic use. I also want to start writing the group that is the “villain” I have a total of 10 gods right now, wich I hope to turn into about 16. Next week I hope to have a finished map draft, and relationships between kingdoms.

If Only

If I could invite any 3 people real or not, dead or alive to a restaurant I would first choose Percy Jackson from, well, Percy Jackson. I would also invite Sophie Foster from Keeper of the Lost City’s, and finally I would invite her boyfriend Keefe from the same series. I would invite these people too the restaurant because, one I want to see how they would interact, both being from similar books, second I want to just talk to them to see what their life is really like.

Rad Reading March

This moth I read the sequel to Daughter of the Moon Goddess, Heart of the Sun Warrior by Sue Lynn Tan. The cover is somehow even better than the last one, the colors, and art style are incredible.

After freeing her mother Xingyin try’s to settle down, but a healing magic makes the moon a target for a general Wugang to get. Wugang shall betray the emperor, and create an undead army to conquer the world. Can Xingyin, Liwei, and Wenzhi find a way to defeat Wugang? Or will his undead army conquer the world.

My favorite character Xingyin because she is brave. Evidence of Xingyin being brave is on page 386 where she says, “‘This isn’t just about vengeance; this is greater than us all. I want Wugang to pay for what he’s done, but more than that—I must do this. He is a tyrant, a ruthless madman, who thinks nothing of sending his armies on an endless rampage of death. He has killed so many, and he will murder countless more if not stopped. What future will await us under his reign ?’” This shows that Xingyin is brave because what she says in her speech. She knows that doing what she is going to so is super dangerous, and risky, but she does it anyway because if she doesn’t the whole world could fall. She did that when not many others would.

My favorite quote is on page 456 where the author tells us, “To live a life with love, was to live without regret.” This is my favorite quote because it gives such a good message in so little words. It just tells the reader from the characters perspective, how to live a life with love.

My Dream Job

If I could have my dream job I would be a game developer. I would want to be a game developer because I enjoy gaming, and I want to make games that other people can enjoy, and share with their friends. Another reason I want to be a game developer is that I am a creative person who enjoys creating new worlds, and environments to explore. I would also want to be a game developer because it could give me something to do when I’m bored, and just scrolling on social media. The final reason I want to be a game developer is because I get to have fun, and join a community, and make new friends. These are the reasons I want to learn how to code, and become a game developer.

Rad Reading February

This month I read the amazing dystopia book Scythe by Neal Shusterman.

In the year 2042 Two kids Rowan, and Citra become apprentices to a scythe, they must learn to kill, but only one can become a scythe.

I would recommend this book to fans of maze runner because it is a dystopia, and is slightly more adult. I love this book because of the premise. To keep the population from spiraling out of control, it’s a necessary evil since trying to live on other planets has failed. Some people now down to scythes in hope of being spared, some pretend they don’t exist, while other hate them. It’s a fun concept for conflict to make the plot interesting.

My favorite character is Honorable scythe Faraday because of how wise he is. An example of when he is wise is on page 11 were he says, “The past never changes—and from what I can see, neither does the future” this proves he is wise because of the foresight Scythe Faraday has. He is wise because he sees that the problems the world he will face in the future are unchangeable, and he must face them when they come.

My favorite quote is one page 93 where scythe Faraday says, “One apology is enough,” the scythe told the boy. “Especially when it’s genuine.” This is my favorite quote it shows how moral scythe Faraday is. I bet as a teacher you probably understand this quote.

A Ghost

What would I do if I was invisible for 24-hours? First I would mess with my cats, I would pick them up, and make their toys float about. After that I would mess with my parents (this is still before school starts) I would turn the tv off and on, nock on the door. Then I would mess with students friends, and teachers, take jackets off, steal backpacks, change grades (for better or for worse) of some students, I’d take some candy as well.
